Our Patient's Safety during COVID-19
Our center is a controlled space, staffed by providers who understand and have experience in managing infection and disease. Especially in the surgical arena, providing exceptional infection control precautions is simply a daily way of life for us.
That said, we know you have questions about your upcoming procedure. Please be aware that we are taking further steps to ensure your safety and comfort.
Before Your Procedure:
You were provided multiple pre-operative documents to complete to prepare for your procedure. Please complete these before your arrival to limit time spent in the waiting area.
You will need a responsible adult escort to drive you to your procedure and home. We will need to know the name and a cell phone number for your escort, and they will need to remain on property until your procedure is complete.
When You Arrive:
- Please call the following number once you pull into the parking lot: 413-788-9700.
- A member of our staff will bring out your registration paperwork to be completed in the care. Once completed, please call the center.
- Your escort will need to walk you to the front door.
- Our intake nurse will come to the door to escort you into the building. (You will be given protective equipment such as a mask prior to entering.)
- Please have all documentation ready to hand over at this time. The intake nurse will review your health information and do a final health screening before proceeding.
- (Your escort will need to wait in the car until your procedure is done.) They will pick you up at the front door once they are called, approximately 30 minutes prior to discharge.
- If your patient escort needs to accompany you, they must undergo the same health screening you will be subject to and follow all applicable center safety measures.
After Your Procedure:
- We will call your escort to alert them when we are ready to discharge you.
- We will bring you to the front door to meet your escort.
- At this time, we will review the findings of the procedure with you and, depending on your post-operative communication preference, your escort. You will also be provided with discharge information and instructions.
- If you should need to speak with the physician about concerns or questions you may have, that communication can be arranged.
Is it safe to have my surgery?
- While there is risk with any surgery, we are taking every precaution to ensure you are safe during your procedure.
- We are taking extra precautions to prescreen patients prior to their arrival at the center.
- We are rescheduling any patients who may be a greater risk.
Can I get COVID-19 from surgery?

How do you clean your center to keep me safe?
- We follow all state and national recommendations to keep our centers clean and safe.

- We clean every procedure room both before and after every patient. In addition, we clean all of our public areas on a regular schedule
- Our cleaning procedures are regularly reviewed by the accreditation bodies listed above.
